Forum Title: Room Divided by Railing
We are going to be installing laminate flooring in two rooms divided by a long oak railing. I was wondering how best to work around the railing since we will not be taking it out. Do you guys recommend undercutting both sides? I have attached a photo for reference. Thanks!

You can trim it out with some matching threshold molding made by your laminate manufacturer. I don't thing a show molding would fit, the baby threshold/carpet molding is flatter.

Are the rooms totally divided by the railing, or can you walk around it at some point? The base of that railing is probably 3/4 or possibly more. Maybe a base shoe or 1/4 round molding could be stained to match? Ernesto mentioned a baby threshold molding. They also make something narrower called an end cap. Might checkout what the manufacturer shows as options.
